FAQs

e-Invoicing in the UAE: frequently asked questions

What is e-invoicing, and is it mandatory in the UAE?

e-Invoicing is the exchange of invoices in a structured, machine-readable format between buyer and seller systems, rather than PDFs or paper. The UAE’s Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is rolling out mandatory e-invoicing for B2B and B2G transactions, built on the Peppol network and the PINT AE invoicing format.

PINT AE is the UAE-localised version of the PINT (Peppol International) invoicing specification. It defines the exact fields and structure an invoice must carry to move across the Peppol network and be accepted under FTA e-invoicing rules.

An Accredited Service Provider (ASP), also called a Peppol Access Point, is a certified intermediary that transmits e-invoices across the Peppol network on a business’s behalf. Digitify is connected with an ASP in the UAE, and additional access points can be configured to match your setup.
